The Iron Lady nominated for 4 BAFTA Awards

THE IRON LADY garnered four BAFTA nominations at this morning's announcement. The nominees are: Original Screenplay - Abi Morgan, Make Up & Hair - Marese Langan, Leading Actress - MERYL STREEP, Supporting Actor - JIM BROADBENT.

The film is a look at the life of Margaret Thatcher, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, with a focus on the price she paid for power.

Robert Plant - Rock Royalty!

Tonight GenMem met Rock Royalty - Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin)

 

Robert Plant (who is Wolverhampton Wanderers FC Vice President) was at Molineux for the Wolves/Birmingham FA Cup match.

The Rock Legend said he he'd recently been in the USA working on new material for his next album, he also (tongue-in-cheek) predicted a Wolves 6-0 win! However, sadly it was no 'Stairway to Heaven' as Wolves lost 0-1 in the local derby!

 

Heavy metal magazine Hit Parader named Plant the "Greatest Metal Vocalist of All-Time". He was also voted "the greatest voice in rock" in a poll conducted by Planet Rock and a Rolling Stone readers' pick placed Plant in first place of the magazine's "Best Lead Singers of All Time".

Amy Winehouse memorial tribute concert set to go ahead

Amy Winehouse's father, Mitch Winehouse, is reportedly in talks with a number of television companies about the possibility of making fans "pay a few quid" to watch the memorial concert. 
The tribute concert is also said to have stars “ Florence And The Machine, Lily Allen, Jessie J and Mark Ronson linked to the gig.
Coinciding with her Father's plans to erect a statue of the star outside Camden Round House, it is likely the gig will take place at the last place the star performed live with ITV looking to televise the show.
